Piedmont Announces 2010 Cross Country Schedule

The Piedmont College cross country programs will compete in five meets prior to arriving in Atlanta, GA for the Great South Athletic Conference championship on Saturday, October 30.
Demorest, GA -- The Piedmont College cross country teams have released their 2010 meet schedules which includes a new invitational not on the 2009 docket as the squads will travel to Rhodes College on Saturday, October 2. The season features five away meets as well the Great South Athletic Conference championship meet and the NCAA Division-III South/Southeast Regional.
The teams will kick off the season with the 27th Annual USC-Upstate Eye-Opener Classic on Saturday, September 4 before traveling to Rome, GA for the Berry College Invitational held on Saturday, September 11. Piedmont will then prepare for the NCAA Division-III South/Southeast Regional by running in the Rhodes College Invitational as the Memphis, TN school plays host to the NCAA post-season event. PC will then wrap up its regular season with back-to-back South Carolina meets competing in the 38th Annual Furman University Invitational before finishing up in the USC-Upstate Cross Country Invitational.
The championship portion of the schedule will begin on Saturday, October 30 as the teams make the short trip down to Atlanta, GA for the conference championship with the men looking to grab consecutive titles for the first time in program history. The women’s squad will be searching for its first GSAC title since bringing home the crown in 2003. The NCAA Division-III South/Southeast Regional will be hosted by Rhodes College in Memphis, TN on Saturday, November 13.
