Kansas City, MO -- Piedmont College men's basketball players Michael Rubio and Will Martin have been honored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) as the association announced its Honors Court recognizing those collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics.  The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents and gifts that these men possess off the court, and the hard work that they exhibit in the classroom.  More...

Demorest, GA -- In the final games of the 2009 season the Piedmont College baseball team split a doubleheader with visiting Methodist University this afternoon at Loudermilk Field. In the opener the Monarchs (27-13) took the 9-7 decision while the Lions (20-21) rallied to take the finale 7-6.

LaGrange, GA -- The #4 seeded Piedmont College softball team posted a split and was eliminated from the 2009 Great South Athletic Conference Tournament this afternoon in LaGrange, GA. The Lady Lions defeated #7 Agnes Scott College 12-3 in the opener but was blanked by #3 Huntingdon College 3-0 in the second elimination game.

Montgomery, AL -- In the first elimination game of the 2009 GSAC Tournament the Piedmont College baseball team fell in walk-off fashion to #4 seeded LaGrange College this afternoon in Montgomery, AL. The Lions rallied with three consecutive two-out hits in the top of the ninth to tie the score but gave up a two-run blast in the home half to be eliminated from the tournament.

Montgomery, AL -- In the opening game of the 2009 Great South Athletic Conference Tournament the Piedmont College baseball team fell to #2 seeded Maryville College this evening in Montgomery, AL by the score of 10-9. The Lions trailed 10-1 but rallied to put the tying run on third base in the bottom of the ninth before the Scots recorded the final out to advance.

The #4 seeded Lady Lions defeated #5 Wesleyan College 8-1 but fell to top-seeded Maryville College 8-7.

Macon, GA -- In the quarterfinals of the 2009 Great South Athletic Conference Tournament the #3 seeded Piedmont College men's tennis team fell to #2 Huntingdon College 5-0 this afternoon in Macon, GA. The Lions could only muster four point in the three doubles matches and dropped both singles matches to be eliminated.
