Starkville, MS -- Piedmont College softball player #B.J. Cofer# has been selected to the 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Region team as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. The junior pitcher collected 22 wins on the season while maintaining an outstanding 0.99 earned run average in 29 appearances.
Cofer led the Lady Lions to the Great South Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles while also being named the conference Pitcher of the Year. The Woodstock, GA native went a perfect 6-0 in GSAC regular season starts this season striking out 35 batters and shutting out four conference opponents.
Cofer also threw three complete game wins in the GSAC tournament including a 4-3 eighth inning victory over defending conference champion LaGrange College in the tournament championship game. The junior continued to impress in post-season play allowing just three earned runs in two starts at the NCAA Regional Tournament hosted by Christopher Newport University.
