Women's Golf Team Victorious Over North Georgia

The PC women's golf team defeated host North Georgia by 96 strokes this afternoon in a dual match at Achasta Golf Club.
Dahlonega, GA -- The #25 Piedmont College women's golf team fired a 348 team score to down NCAA Division II host North Georgia College & State University in a dual match at Achasta Golf Club. The team score of 60-over is the fifth-best single round score in the program's history and easily distanced the host Lady Saints by 96 strokes (348-444).
Maria Carter led the way for the Lady Lions as she claimed medalist honors with a six-over 78 which matches the fourth best single round in program history. Teammate
Cayla Banks was second in the 10-player field with an 82.
Kimberley Tucker and
Bethann Rogers rounded out the team scoring for PC with a 90 and 99 respectively.
Megan Carr just missed a counting score with a 103.
Brittney Kemp posted the low score for NGC&SU with an 85 highlighted by a birdie on hole 15 in which she holed a 155 yard shot from the fairway.
Piedmont will return to action on April 5-6 when the team travels to Lookout Mountain, GA to take part in the Reeder Cup hosted by Covenant College.
