New York, NY -- The Piedmont College women's golf team earned its first-ever national ranking this afternoon as the team broke into the

The Lady Lions received 35 votes from a nation-wide panel of golf coaches and are ranked #25. The team had been in the Also Receiving Votes section of the poll for the first two weeks.
Twelve-time national champion Methodist University is again the unanimous choice for the top spot in the poll, earning all 14 first-place votes. The Monarchs have won their last two events, taking first place at the NIU Snowbird and the Jekyll Island Women's Intercollegiate, giving them three tournament victories for the 2009-10 season.
Piedmont will return to action on April 5-6 when the team travels to Lookout Mountain, GA to take part in the Reeder Cup hosted by Covenant College.
