Demorest, GA -- The Piedmont College women's tennis team dropped its first conference contest of the season this afternoon to visiting Great South Athletic Conference member Spelman College at Burgen Tennis Courts.  The Jaguars made the trip up to Demorest collecting seven points to hand PC the 7-2 defeat in the Lions' GSAC opener.

For Piedmont, seniors Lisa Jennings and Mandy Beasley collected points at #5 and #6 singles respectively.  With the loss, the Lady Lions fall to 1-6 overall and 0-1 in GSAC play but will look to rebound quickly when they travel to Franklin Springs, GA on Monday, March 29 to take on Emmanuel College with the first serve set for 4:00.
