Lions' Defense Clamps Down On JBC 95-48

Mike Chatman scored 14 points and collected three steals in the Lions' 95-48 road win at Johnson Bible College this evening.

The Piedmont College men's basketball team jumped out early and never looked back as they cruised past non-conference host Johnson Bible College this evening 95-48.  The win moves Piedmont to 15-7 overall on the season. 

Piedmont's pressure defense forced 33 JBC turnovers on the night including 20 in the first half in which the Lions built a comfortable 49-20 halftime lead.  PC also held the Preachers to just 34% from the field and earned a decisive 53-33 advantage on the glass. 

Piedmont placed five players in double-figures led by a 20-point night off the bench from freshman Tyler Arnold.  Arnold also pulled down a game-high eight rebounds.  Michael Rubio and Mike Chatman added 15 and 14 respectively as the duo combined to make five three-pointers.  Daniel Lampl (12) and #J.C. Herebia (10) rounded out the Lions' double-figure scorers. 

Piedmont will return to action on Saturday, February 13 when the Lions play host to Great South Athletic Conference rival LaGrange College with tip-off set for 4:00 in the Johnny Mize Athletic Center.
