Fidero Named To All-South Team At Cross Country Regionals

Senior Michael Fidero ended his career in style at the NCAA Division-III South Regional with an 8K time of 28:39, good enough for a spot on the All-South Team.
Greensboro, NC -- The Piedmont College men's cross country team wrapped up the 2009 season this morning at the NCAA Division-III South/Southeast Regional hosted by Guilford College. The men finished in 20th place out of the 24-team field.
Senior MIchael Fidero led the Lions with an 8K time of 28:39 to finish in 31st place individually. For his efforts Fidero, last year's Great South Athletic Conference individual champion, was named to the All-South Team.
James Maxwell followed in 30:44 while Wesley Milton crossed the tape in 31:45. Matt Collins and Aaron Saylor were the final two counting scores with 32:40 and 32:58 respectively while Montez Jones rounded out the squad in 34:46.
The Lions wrap up the season after competing in nine meets and claiming the 2009 Great South Athletic Conference Championship.
