Cross Country Runs At 37th Annual Furman University Invitational

James Maxwell posted a personal record 8K time of 31:17 at the 37th Annual Furman University Invitational.

Greenville, SC -- The Piedmont College men's and women's cross country teams competed this morning at the 37th Annual Furman University Invitational. The Lions sent a pair of individual runners while the Lady Lions finished 15th out of the 16-team field.

On the men's side James Maxwell set a personal best 8K time of 31:17. Teammate Wesley Milton crossed the tape in 31:58.

Erin McCallister led the women's team with a 5K time of 25:44 closely followed by Michelle Sosia who posted a time of 26:53. Anna McClatchy and Leah Cunningham finished in 27:28 and 31:16 respectively while Katie Rice rounded out the squad with a time of 31:58.

Both teams will return to the course again on Saturday, October 17th as they travel to the USC-Upstate Cross Country Invitational in Spartanburg, SC beginning at 9:00.
