The Piedmont College men and women's cross country teams competed in its third meet of the year, this morning at the Limestone College Invitational in Gaffney, SC. The Lady Lions finished in eighth place of the nine team field while the individual runners on the men's side both posted personal record times.
For the women
JENNIFER GATHERCOAL was the top finisher completing the 5K run in 22:04, placing her 33rd in the 69-runner field. Newcomer
LISA JENNINGS finished in 23:50 while
EMILY WOODWARD and
ANNA MCCLATCHY notched times of 24:22 and 24:24 respectively.
Rounding out the field for PC was Stephanie Garrett who crossed the finish line in 25:03. All five Lady Lions set personal records with their respective times.
MICHAEL FIDERO improved his personal best with an 8K time of 27:45, placing him in 8th place overall out of the 60 runners in competition. First-year runner
MATT COLLINS improved his best time crossing the line in 30:54 and placing 37th.
The harriers will compete again on Saturday, September 27th in the Great South Athletic Conference Pre-Conference meet hosted by Maryville College in Maryville, TN beginning at 10:00.
