Harriers Will Be Under Direction Of First-Year Head Coach Scott Stanley

The cross country teams will open their 2008 seasons on September 6 when both teams travel to Sewanee, TN to take part in the Sewanee-University of the South Invitational.
The Piedmont College Department of Athletics has released the 2008 cross country schedules with the season opener slated for September 6th at the Sewanee-University of the South Invitational in Sewanee, TN.

Under the direction of first-year head coach Scott Stanley, the PC harriers are set to compete in six meets spanning four different states throughout the southeast. The regular season is highlighted by the Maryville College Pre-Conference Invitational in Maryville, TN on September 27th. MC will also play host to the 2008 Great South Athletic Conference championship on November 1st.

Piedmont will be in competition against runners from all various divisions of collegiate athletics. For the second consecutive year the Lions will attend the University of Georgia Athens Stampede on September 20th against a field largely comprised of NCAA Division-I runners.

Last season the men's team finished runner-up in the Great South Athletic Conference championship out of the three-team field. CHRISTOPHER RICE, MICHAEL FIDERO, and YVE CHAWLA claimed All-Conference honors and will return for their sophomore seasons.

On the women's side the Lady Lions will look to improve upon their sixth place finish in the 2007 GSAC championship. PC will return three of its top five runners including top-returner DANIELLE VIDD for her sophomore campaign.
