The Piedmont College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Great American Cross Country Meet this afternoon in Hoover, AL. In a field comprised of teams from all divisions of the NCAA MICHAEL FIDERO led the way with a 30th place finish with neither team able to qualify a team score.

Fidero's 8K time of 29:08 placed him 30th in the 59-runner field. Teammate MATT COLLINS crossed the tape in 32:12, good enough for a 50th place finish. On the women's side the Lady Lions were led by senior JENNIFER GATHERCOAL who completed the 5K course in 24:05 placing her 38th out of 54.

LISA JENNINGS closely followed with a time of 25:46 while ANNA MCCLATCHY and STEFANIE GARRETT rounded out the team with times of 27:07 and 27:49 respectively.

The harriers will return to action in the Great South Athletic Conference Championship hosted by Maryville College in Maryville, TN on Saturday, November 1st  with start time to be determined.
