Cross Country Compete At Southern Collegiate Cross Country Challenge

Runners Continue To Improve Before GSAC Championship

Chris Rice was the top Piedmont finisher today with an 8K time of 29:40 at the Southern Collegiate Cross Country Challenge.
The Piedmont College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Southern Collegeiate Cross Country Challenge this morning run in Marietta, GA. The Lions were able to finish second out of the five four-year colleges and universities while the Lady Lions did not have enough runners to qualify a team score.

For the men Chris Rice led the way with an 8K time of 29:40. He was closely followed by MICHAEL FIDERO and YVE CHAWLA who both completed the course in 30 minutes. Rounding out the squad was MONTEZ JONES and TRENT SMITH who finished the race in 34:02 and 36:10 respectively.

On the women's side DANIELLE VIDD was the Lady Lions' top runner with a 5K time of 27:05 closely followed by KRIS PRATT who finised in 27:19. STEFANIE GARRETT ran in 30:42 while Jill Pratt rounded out the team with a meet time of 32:52.

The cross country teams will return to action again on Saturday, October 27th as they travel to Great South Athletic Conference host Maryville College in Maryville, TN for the MC Homecoming Invitational with the starting times to be announced.
