Demorest, GA - At Burgen Tennis Courts, the Lady Lions were defeated by the Capitals of Christopher Newport, 2-7. In their seventh match, Piedmont was only able to take two matches from Christopher Newport bringing their record to 3-4 on the season.

Doubles competition did not go Piedmont's way except for No. 2 when Katie Sailors and Ashley Fannon fought hard for their win. In a close set, the pair eked out a 9-8 victory after a 3-0 tiebreaker.

In Singles, Sailors represented the Lady Lions on the scorecard as well. She took No. 1 singles away from the Capitals in straight sets; 6-2, 6-1. Erin Krause took M. Downs to a third set in No. 4 singles after taking the first but lost the final two; 6-3, 5-7, 0-10.

The Lady Lions are now 3-1 in the USA South and face up against in-state conference rival LaGrange College, Wednesday in Demorest.
