Clarkesville, GA -- The Piedmont College men's golf team rebounded from a slow opening round to earn a third-place finish at the 4th Annual Piedmont College Spring Invitational contested at The Orchard Golf & Country Club.  Piedmont carded a 334-306--640 as their final round score was the tournament's lowest and moved the team up five spots from the midway point.

Piedmont stood in eighth place after an uncharacteristic opening round of 334 and used the tournament's low round (306) to move past five schools to finish third behind champion North Georgia College & State University (615) and ABAC (634).  The Lions's final round score catapulted them past Maryville, Covenant, Mount St. Joseph, Ohio Dominican A and Ohio Dominican B.

Clifton Barton earned a spot on the All-Tournament team by virtue of a fourth place finish after carding a team-best 74-78--152.

Maryville's Trey Bidwell earned tournament medalist honors with a 75-69--144.

The Lions will return to action on March 19-21 when they travel to Jekyll Island, GA to take part in the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational to be contested on the Pine Lakes course.
