Harriers Compete At Berry College Invitational

Junior Michael Fidero, the reigning GSAC Individual Champion, led the Lions in the Berry College Invitational this morning in Rome, GA.
Rome, GA -- In the second meet of the season the Piedmont College cross country teams competed this morning at the Berry College Invitational. On the men's side the Lions were able to place 13th out of the 20-team field.

Michael Fidero, the reigning Great South Athletic Conference Individual Champion, led the squad with an 8K time of 28:16 to finish in 47th place. Newcomer Aaron Saylor followed with a time of 29:53 and was closely followed by Wesley Milton in 30:56. Matt Collins and James Maxwell crossed in 31:23 and 31:38 respectively while Montez Jones rounded out the team with a 33:42.

On the women's side the Lady Lions saw three individuals finish led by senior Erin McCallister who completed the 5K course in 25:53. Michelle Sosia and Anna McClatchy crossed the tape in 26:05 and 26:28 respectively.

The harriers will return to action again on Saturday, September 19th as they travel to the University of Georgia Bulldog Stampede in Athens, GA slated to start at 8:00.
