Bristol, TN -- After a stellar four-year career at Piedmont College that included a trip to the 2008 NCAA National Tournament, former PC baseball standout Spencer Shelton has made his professional debut having signed a minor league deal with the Chicago White Sox organization. Shelton was sent to Bristol, TN to begin his professional career with the Bristol White Sox, Chicago's Rookie Appalachian League affiliate.

Pleasant, MI -- Designated hitter Kevin McConnell has been recognized by the American Baseball Coaches Association with a spot on the 2010 All-South Region team as announced by the ABCA this afternoon. McConnell was named to the All-South Region second team after starting all 42 games of the season for the Piedmont College baseball team at the DH position.

Fayetteville, NC -- The Piedmont College baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader on the road this afternoon to conclude the 2010 season. The Lions first fell to York College of Pennslyvania by a 11-1 score before dropping an 8-5 decision to Methodist University.

Fayetteville, NC -- The Piedmont College baseball team split a road doubleheader this afternoon dropping a 10-8 decision to York College of Pennslyvania before grabbing a 13-8 victory over Methodist University in the nightcap. The Lions used 11 runs over the last two innings against Methodist to come from behind for its 21st win of the season.

Demorest, GA -- The Piedmont College baseball team fell for the second time in the Great South Athletic Conference tournament this afternoon to the #4 seed Hawks of Huntingdon College by a 6-3 score. The Lions took an early one run lead but could not hold on as Huntingdon grabbed the 6-3 decision.
