Timmy McCormack enters his third overall season as an assistant coach with the Piedmont College soccer program and his second season with the women’s side of the program. After serving one season as the assistant coach for the PC men’s soccer team, McCormack took over as the top assistant for the women’s program following the 2008 season.

In his most recent season as the Women’s Assistant Soccer Coach, McCormack helped the 2009 team to one of the program’s most successful seasons that included a 14-4 overall finish and a 6-1 mark in Great South Athletic Conference play. The 2009 Lady Lions made an appearance in the GSAC championship tournament final for the first time in three seasons after earning a runner-up finish in the conference regular season. Serving the squad as the goalkeeping coach, McCormack also tutored an All-Conference performer in the net in just his first season with the Lady Lions.

Before switching over to the women’s side of the PC soccer program, McCormack operated as an assistant coach with Piedmont’s men’s soccer team in the fall of 2008. Serving under current Lions Head Coach Jimmy Stephens, McCormack helped mentor six conference All-Academic selections and five All-Conference honorees including the 2008 GSAC Men’s Player of the Year who was also a NCAA statistical champion in points per game and goals per game.

Prior to joining the Lions coaching staff, McCormack spent three years as the head coach for the Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School. During his tenure, he mentored a pair of All-State players including the Montgomery Metro Player of the Year while leading the varsity boys’ team to the program’s first AHSAA state playoff berth in over a decade. McCormack spent two years as an assistant with the high school program before taking the reins as the head coach in the spring of 2005.

Having been a member of the camp staffs at the University of Notre Dame, Maryville College, and the Cajun Soccer Club, McCormack also served as the Co-Director of the Marshall Soccer School with Marshall University Head Men’s Soccer Coach Bob Gray in the summer of 2007. As an active member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, McCormack currently holds a Level II Goalkeeping Diploma and National Diploma from the NSCAA in addition to a ‘C’ License from the United States Soccer Federation.

The Lady Lions coach spent his playing days at Great South Athletic Conference member Huntingdon College where he was named to the 2003 GSAC All-Freshman Team and the 2006 All-Tournament Team at the Sewanee-University of the South Invitational.

In addition to his duties with the women’s soccer program, McCormack also serves Piedmont as the Sports Information Director handling event management and media relations for the college's 14 intercollegiate sports. Responsible for providing external coverage for all athletic events while maintaining public and media relations for the athletic department, McCormack also oversees the official website of Piedmont College Athletics, www.PiedmontLions.com, as well as the PC Sports Network.

McCormack received his Bachelor of Arts in History from Great South Athletic Conference member school Huntingdon College where he earned Dean’s List of High Honors in the fall of 2007. After earning his undergraduate degree in the spring of 2008, McCormack would go on to receive a Master of Arts in Teaching from Piedmont just two years later.

McCormack married the former Jamie Edwards in May of 2008 and the two now make their home in Lawrenceville, GA.
